I'm going to try and keep up with this thing, but it's looking like things could get a little out of control for awhile. The new semester starts next week, and judging by my new assignment and class lists, it's going to be a tough one. All those violent and scary kids you hear about... yup, they're in my classes! I may need to lean on people from time to time, and I'm hoping I come out the other end of this still okay with teaching.
I'm trying not to think about it too much, since I'm not too good at avoiding thinking about the worst case scenario. I need to surround myself with happy thoughts, so if you have any, feel free to direct them my way. Pictures, jokes, funny stories, gossip. Anything will help. It's only 5 months until June.
Here's my joke of the day. Hopefully I'm not the only one who finds this funny.

A Shrine...
... to Les Stroud... I'm not sure when my infactuation with him began, but I know that I have seen every episode of Survivorman multiple times. So you can imagine my surprise when I was watching an episode from his third season and he mentioned midway through that it was his last ever episode. I knew it was his last season, but I had no idea that the season was going to be so short! So since there will never be another new episode of Survivorman, I thought I should devote a blog post to his total awesomeness. Anyone who has never seen Survivorman, season three starts in Canada tomorrow on OLN. Don't ask how I have already seen the season. I'll just say that a true fan finds a way to see the episodes while they are only being aired in the States.
Some of my episode favourites include the Amazon (when he gets chased through the jungle by a jaguar), Costa Rica (he has to sleep in the jungle where he is tortured by millions of creepy crawlies), Kalahari (he distills his own pee for water!), and the Arctic (where he sees polar bear tracks only 6 feet from where he was sleeping). If you ever see it on TV, stop and check it out!
Oh, and he's from Canada!!!
